Our flagship project is the Festival - the world’s largest youth drama festival.
About our impact“I learned about making Shakespeare relevant and accessible to young people in today's world. The things I have learned have informed my day to day teaching and have become an integral part of our curriculum, raising standards and achievement immeasurably.” SEND school teacher, Wirral
For over 15 years Coram Shakespeare Schools Foundation has been empowering teachers to use our pedagogical approach to enhance the classroom and their own professional development. Our top-rated teacher training for primary, secondary and SEND teachers draws on rehearsal room practice and an active pedagogy to transform lives.
We offer five core CPDs:
Teaching Shakespeare - Suitable for all school settings, this CPD provides practical tools to teach Shakespeare to your young people in an experiential way, getting the text up on its feet to deepen and master your students' understanding.
Creativity across literacy and oracy - We will explore tools and skills for a creative approach to literacy and oracy that are easily transferable to your classroom.
Creativity across the curriculum - Aimed at Primary teachers, this CPD provides participants with practical tools to implement a culture of creativity right across the primary curriculum.
Inclusive Shakespeare - CSSF has extensive experience working in SEND schools, both as part of our flagship Theatre Festival and through bespoke in-school projects. Within this workshop we’ll focus on how to introduce the story, characters and language of Shakespeare to your young people in a visceral and inclusive way.
Teacher wellbeing - This session is designed to focus on improving teacher’s wellbeing with practical tools to implement within your daily practice. Perfect for a whole school CPD, this session will leave participants feeling resilient in the face of challenges.
All our CPD sessions can be delivered in school as a twilight session or part of an inset day or conference. Every CPD includes a toolkit to be used by participants after delivery to ensure a meaningful legacy. As well as this core offering, we can also provide bespoke CPD catered to specific objectives.
