Coram Shakespeare Schools is looking for a new Schools Outreach Coordinator to join the team. We asked Angharad, who joined us herself this year, to tell us a bit about the role:

"Ever dreamed of bringing the joy of theatre to young people across the UK? Well, here is your chance! The Sales and Marketing team here at Coram Shakespeare Schools are looking for a new Schools Outreach Coordinator. This role involves reaching out to schools across the UK, introducing them to the work we do and facilitating their partnership with CSSF. One of the many joys of outreach lies in relationship-building, and this role is highly suited to anyone who thrives on connection. Much of the day is spent calling schools across the UK and connecting with educators on a personal level, finding out what their classroom dreams are and helping to make them a reality.

"Now, as you might expect, not every call results in a resounding "yes". Schools are facing many barriers to access, especially when it comes to arts provision, so it is a true pleasure when we, as Schools Outreach Coordinators, are able to find a way to remove, or at least reduce, those barriers. The moments when you've turned a "no" into a "yes" and provided a group of young people with the transformative experience of performing on a professional stage are magical.

"Alongside Outreach duties, one of the real highlights of working with Coram Shakespeare Schools is that you are never confined solely to your role. The team here is made up of curious and generous people who are always willing to share their expertise, help you develop your skills, and learn from the experience you bring to the table yourself. My time here has already taught me so much about the education sector, marketing, fundraising, project coordination, and even expanded my facilitation skills, which is my own professional background. My role has, naturally, included a great many phone calls and emails, but it has also seen me sitting in on Youth Board sessions, helping out at performance days, and even running around backstage at the Criterion Theatre! So, if you're an inquisitive, personable and self-motivated individual who approaches their work with empathy, enjoys finding creative solutions, and wants to make a real difference for young people, this might just be the role for you."
