Coding Club, August 2024

Smiling children experiment with electronics. This August, Coram Tomorrow's Achievers ran the annual Coding Club for young people at Barking and Dagenham Virtual School in partnership with The London South Bank University. For the first time we delivered this club on campus at LSBU, allowing the young people participating direct access to the Universities resources.

The club ran for three days over which time the young people were able to learn from lecturers and student ambassadors about how to create and code robots. Working as teams they found a problem that they wanted their robot to solve, drew and designed their robot character and then coded and built their robot.

The three days ended in a celebration of their creativity with each team presenting their work at LSBU to an audience of peers in a lecture theatre. We were blown away by how they rose to the challenge and with how quickly they picked up and demonstrated the skills learned.
