On Tuesday 19th September, Coram Shakespeare Schools Foundation is welcoming screenwriter and playwright Peter Straughan for a special guest masterclass with the schools participating in our Film Festival. Peter will be speaking about his experience as writer, and about the process of adapting famous and beloved texts for the screen, before a Q&A with our Teacher-Directors.

Peter Straughan is most famous for writing the screenplay for Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy with his wife Bridget O’Connor for which they won the BAFTA award for Best Adapted Screenplay and were nominated for the Academy Award. He was also Emmy-nominated for his television adaptation of Wolf Hall. His other work includes Mrs. Ratcliffe’s Revolution, How to Lose Friends & Alienate People, The Men Who Stare at Goats, and The Goldfinch.

We're really excited to have Peter joining us for the workshop, and are sure that his expertise will be invaluable to our Film Festival Teacher-Directors as they put their own Shakespeare adaptations on screen this term.
